Community Network's Welsh Project

Welcome to Community Network's Welsh project. This service is for older adults over the age of 60 years, funded by Awards4All until July 2013. The service connects older people over the telephone for free in peer supported telephone groups in Wales.

Community Network has previously worked in Wales to deliver a successful telephone group project and so on the basis of this Community Network is continuing to work in there. The telephone groups are especially useful to those that live in rural valleys and help reduce social isolation and loneliness, especially when family member move away.

As with most of Community Network's services, telephone groups can be used for a variety of different reasons. They can be used to support home delivery book services, offer carers a means of connecting to others despite high demands on their time, join together Wales-wide services and service users with specific conditions, and gather the feedback and opinions of patients by healthcare professionals for example.

Whatever, an organisation's interest Community Network can support them and their service users to stay socially connected and ensure that their mental health and well-being is maintained if not improved.
