As experts in setting up, running and developing groups on the telephone Community Network is perfectly placed to provide support and guidance to other organisations wishing to encourage peer to peer support via the telephone.
We have an excellent track record in developing tailored training for organisations and providing support for recruiting and retaining volunteers and group members.
Community Network has worked in partnership with Age UK to deliver part of the ‘isolated at home’ strand of Age UK’s national Big Lottery funded fit as a fiddle programme.
We have also developed a train the trainer programme for Arthritis Care’s 8 week Chat4Change project, which enables groups of people with arthritis to share experiences, learn tips and simple techniques for self-care, managing their condition and general well-being.
“Talking Tonics” telephone discussion groups were proven to get isolated older adults eating more healthily, taking part in greater amounts of physical activity and feeling more confident and satisfied in their lives.
“Talking Tonics” training packs have been developed so that other organisations and volunteers can run their own similar projects and empower individuals to contribute to and gain from peer to peer support .
Our training packs are now available together with bespoke consultancy to support your organisation implement “Talking Tonics” and capture validated data on benefits to participants and volunteers.
